Saint Anthony's Hospice Volunteers gathered for a special dedication and blessing of the Hospice room on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Willow Rose Rehab.
Saint Anthony's Hospice Mission Partners and volunteers teamed together with Willow Rose Rehab and Health Care in Jerseyville, to make the Hospice room for patients and their families. The room has been fully remodeled with new paint, carpet, furniture and special warm room accents.
“Saint Anthony’s Hospice and the hospice volunteers wanted to provide nursing home residents and their families a place where they could gather for a peaceful, uninterrupted goodbye and felt that a hospice room would provide just that,” said Brenda Wyman, Hospice Director.
“Although hospice patients have a poor prognosis, hospice is not about dying. It’s about receiving appropriate treatment,” adds Wyman. “Working with the nurses and staff at Willow Rose will provide Saint Anthony's Hospice patients the best possible care in a calm and soothing environment for both the patients and their families.”
