The Foundation conducts an annual appeal each November; however, donations are accepted throughout the year. Please join a growing number of donors who wish to use their charitable dollars by investing in local health care. Giving has never been easier for those seeking to make a tax-deductible gift. The Saint Anthony’s Foundation Annual Charitable Golf Tournament stands out from the crowd. Our tournament is consistently scheduled on the first Monday in June at Lockhaven Country Club. With over $70,000 in sponsorships each year, the event is first class. A personal appearance by Cardinal Baseball Hall of Famer, Red Schoendienst, a long time friend of the Foundation, adds to the excitement. Hole six hosts Margaritaville, a refreshing stop sure to hit the spot especially if the ball is not hitting the green! And where else do you see our Sisters roaming the course ready with a smile and a prayer?

The Snow Ball
The annual Snow Ball Dinner Dance is held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This event was created by St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary more than 50 years ago! Since 1989, Saint Anthony's has continued the tradition. Traditionally held at Lockhaven Country Club, cocktails and dinner are served before we strike up the band for an evening of dancing. This festive occasion gives us the opportunity to celebrate our Mission and welcome those new to the Health Center community.
Gold Sponsor, $1,500: Sponsorship at this level includes four tickets to the Snow Ball Dinner Dance, plus special sponsor recognition.
Silver Sponsor, $800: Sponsorship at this level includes two tickets to the Snow Ball Dinner Dance, plus special sponsor recognition.
Donor, $500: Sponsorship at this level includes one ticket to the Snow Ball Dinner Dance, plus special sponsor recognition.
From time to time, the Community Relations Committee will plan a third event, like our 2011 Hawaiian Themed Progressive Dinner, simply because our Foundation volunteers like to have fun!

Art of Healing
When the medical surgical units were remodeled offering all private rooms in 2010, new art was placed in patient rooms and hallways to add to the healing environment of our Health Center. Donors generously stepped forward to purchase naming rights to offer support and to underwrite the cost of the project. Religious works of art as well as nature photography became known as the Art of Healing. Pieces such as relief paintings of the Archangels, photography by local artist, Jeff Vaughn, and photos featuring the talents of our Mission Partners reflect our religious heritage and our Mission of healing the whole person. Naming rights are available ranging from $500 to $5,000. Donors are acknowledged with a decorative plate placed near the art.
The past two years have been critical fundraising years for the Foundation’s Mission of supporting Saint Anthony's Health Center. Timely and crucial investments in technology, changes in government reimbursement, providing essential access to care, and offsetting the downturn of the economy seemed to be insurmountable challenges. But by the grace of God, our work has been blessed! We are giving a most heartfelt thanks to our donors who continue to support us - year in and year out - and to those who have remembered us in their estate planning.
Although we did not have the opportunity to thank them during their lifetimes, we remember in prayer, John and Janet Cassella (2011 - Hospice), and Manford and Harriott Motz (2012 – Unrestricted) for their generous gifts to the Foundation.
The Foundation staff and members of the Planned Giving Committee are available to answer questions about the diverse options of planned gifts. A legacy gift to the Health Center touches many lives for generations to come: Patients benefit from Catholic Health Care sustained; Mission Partners are empowered with improved equipment; the community benefits economically from 800 plus jobs; and our families benefit from the prayerful presence of the Sisters.
Gift of Stock/Real Estate As an alternative to gifts of cash and planned gifts, gifts of stock and real estate offer many benefits to the donor. If a donation of stock is made, donors can take the full deduction of the stock value rather than the purchase price of the original stock. Likewise, gifts of real estate offer deductions far greater than the original purchase price of the home. Gifts of real estate also alleviate the burden of disposing of property later in life with an immediate deduction. Carefully planned gifts also offer benefits to the donor’s family through a reduction in inheritance taxes.
Call the Foundation office at 618/463-5204 to discuss alternative gift options.
