Saint Clare’s Villa, affordable supportive living for the Alton community, is located on the upper levels of Saint Clare’s Hospital at 915 E. Fifth Street in Alton, Illinois. Designed to ensure independence and quality living for adults 65 years of age and older, Saint Clare’s Villa offers one-bedroom and studio apartments. As part of the Saint Anthony’s family of services, Saint Clare’s Villa combines independence with personal care in a safe, dignified and comfortable setting. This beautiful residential setting overlooking the Mississippi River provides flexible personal care services to meet the needs of older adults who have some functional limitations. Residents are selected to carefully match services and resident needs through a comprehensive admission process, which is the key to the supportive environment created for the residents, their families and staff.

Personal Care Assistance and Support
Our qualified staff offers assistance with bathing, meal service and other activities of daily living, if needed. Medication Management, set up, reminders and monitoring is available as well.

Three family-style meals per day are served in the main dining room. Snacks and beverages are also available at all times. Weekly housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, and bed linen changes are provided. Personal laundry service is provided upon request. Washers and dryers are also located on each floor for the use of residents free of charge.
Appliances/Furnishings
A microwave and full-size refrigerator are included in each unit. Residents provide furniture, window draperies, dishes and other household necessities.
Activities
Daily recreational, social and cultural activities are planned, including health educational programs. Our monthly calendar and newsletter keeps residents apprised of shopping, Bingo, music and exercise programs. A licensed beautician is also available (for additional cost) to provide services to the residents in the beauty shop located on the fourth floor of the Villa.
Safety and Security
The Villa is staffed in the day, evening and throughout the nights, seven days per week. A 24-hour personal emergency call system is available throughout Saint Clare’s villa — in each unit, as well as in the common areas. Residents have peace of mind knowing that if an emergency is at hand, help will be immediately available. And for the added safety of the residents, Saint Clare’s Villa is a locked and secured facility between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., seven days per week. Visitors are allowed after hours with prior notification.

Saint Clare’s Villa is an affiliate of Saint Anthony's Health Center, a 229-bed, 2-campus health care organization with a strong mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ to all and a rich history in the community. Owned and operated by the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George, the Health Center includes: Saint Anthony’s Hospital, Saint Clare’s Hospital, Saint Anthony’s Medical Mall, and Saint Anthony’s Medical Equipment. Saint Anthony's Health Center has been awarded many accreditations, certifications and designations.
Fees and Qualifications
A tiered fee schedule is used, depending upon the residents level of care. Interested individuals must undergo a functional, physical and cognitive screening process as well as TB testing, meeting criteria as defined by the State supportive living guidelines. To qualify for Saint Clare’s Villa, individuals must be 65 years or older, and meet income restrictions.
