Saint Anthony's Adds New Technology and Plans to Expand GI Center

Dr. Naeem Aslam, a board certified gastroenterologist who arrived in Alton last fall, completed extensive training in EUS, cutting-edge technology for gastrointestinal conditions, which combines endoscopy and ultrasound into one procedure, resulting in high quality images of internal organs.  Dr. Klucka, a long-time area gastroenterologist, cites some common digestive conditions. “We see patients for a number of digestive issues, including heartburn, lactose intolerance, ulcers and colon cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis and inflammatory bowel disease.”

Saint Anthony’s Plans to Expand Rehab Unit (February 3, 2012) – Individuals needing inpatient rehab care will soon find private rooms in the area’s only Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) located at Saint Clare’s Hospital, 915 East Fifth Street, Alton.  

Women's Imaging Center Offers Latest in Digital Mammography

 

State-of-the-art technology for mammography and detecting osteoporosis and bone disease is available in the Women’s Imaging Center. The new GE densitometry equipment in the hospital features low dose radiation testing for bone density and body composition in one examination.

 

Free Heart Healthy Educational Program for Women

 Saint Anthony’s Health Center is recognizing February as American Heart Month with a free heart healthy educational program for women.Women & Heart Disease, scheduled for Saturday, February 18 at 10 a.m., will focus on preventive tips and recommended strategies for good cardiovascular health.

 

 

Free Knee and Shoulder Screening Appointments

 Area residents who may be suffering from joint pain or discomfort are invited to receive free knee and shoulder screenings on Thursday, February 9, with appointments starting at 5 p.m. in the Outpatient Rehab Services at Saint Clare’s Professional Building, 815 East Fifth Street.

Good Health Tips: Understanding the Chronic Cough
