Pastoral Care Program
Who went about doing good and healing all,
We ask you to bless our friends who are sick.
Give them strength in body, courage in spirit and patience with pain.
Let them recover their health.
What is Pastoral Care? We are a part of the Saint Anthony's health care team, which is dedicated to serving you. Our principle function is to aid you with your spiritual needs. Pastoral Care staff visit many of the patients at both Saint Anthony's Health Center and Saint Clare's Hospital campuses. Although the Pastoral Care department is comprised of priests and sisters, we are here to serve all of you, regardless of denomination.
Our staff is available to give spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families. Some patients may prefer to talk to their own pastor or minister, and we would be happy to contact them for you. To Catholics who are able to receive the sacraments, we provide Holy Communion, Confession and Anointing of the Sick. In cases of emergency, we will administer Baptism to infants. To adults who are interested, we provide information about Baptism.
The main Chapel at Saint Anthony's Health Center is located on the first floor and is open 24 hours a day. Daily Mass is offered there at 6 a.m. (Monday through Saturday), and 5:50 a.m. (Sundays and Holy Days).
Adjacent to the main chapel is the San Damiano Adoration Chapel, which is open from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Anyone is welcome to visit either of the Chapels.
You can normally contact the Pastoral Care staff between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. We are on call 24 hours a day and thus, can be reached any time in case of emergency or in a time of crisis.
To contact Pastoral Care, please call Saint Anthony's main number at 618/465-2571 and ask the operator to page Pastoral Care.
